Make it last
A good shirt should look sharp for years. A few simple habits protect the fabric, the crest and the print.
Washing
- Turn the shirt inside out before washing.
- Wash cold (30 degrees C or below) on a gentle cycle with similar colours.
- Use a mild detergent. Skip bleach and fabric softener, which break down performance fabric.
- Do not wash with zips, velcro or rough items that can snag.
Drying
- Air dry flat or on a wide hanger, away from direct sun and heaters.
- Avoid the tumble dryer. High heat can curl crests and damage printing.
Ironing and storage
- Avoid ironing. If you must, use low heat on the inside only and never touch crests, badges or numbers.
- Store folded or hung in a cool, dry place. For retro shirts, hang them to protect the shape and prints.
Stains
Treat quickly with cool water and a drop of mild soap, dabbing rather than rubbing. For anything stubborn, wash as normal and repeat before drying.
